Episode 025: Bighorn, Tahoe Bear Fighting, 6 Days in the Dome, and AT Northbound FKT Update

This week Farley is on vacation in Hardrock country but was able to record on some shaky wifi. We talk about Bighorn 100. We recount Johnny’s Tahoe 200 experience before the course change and go over the race results from this year’s race. Also, a Tahoe 200 volunteer becomes an instant legend after saving a drop bag which was stolen by a bear! Some pretty epic feats happened at this years 6 days in the dome race including Zach Bitter throwing down a sub 12 hour 100 miler. We have updates on LazCon, Hardest Geezer, and the current AT Northbound FKT attempt by Kristian Morgan. Tragically a runner passed away at a mountain race in France that went sideways with weather. Episode 024: SD100, Comrades, Dipsea, Kettle, AT FKT in Progress and Hardest Geezer Update

A lot of classic races took place over the weekend! We go over race results from San Diego 100, Comrades, Kettle Moraine, Scout Mountain, Dipsea, and the inaugural Huron 100 in Michigan. We got LazCon update as we were recording! We talk about some records including Stine Rex's 48 hour record and Sophie Power's record run around Ireland. Speaking of records, there is an Appalachian Trail Northbound FKT attempt in progress which is going quite well so far! We close the show out by discussing the Hardest Geezer's latest adventure which started 2 days ago.

Episode 023: Worlds End, Mohican, Old Dominion, and More Spring Energy Drama

We have a special guest today! Chas Adams joins us to talk about his experience at the Worlds End 100K. All three of us are baffled at the low finisher rate at Mohican 100 this year. We discuss the Damn Yeti 50 mile and 55K races. We do a deep dive into Johnny’s white whale, Old Dominion 100. Nick Coury laid down a sub 6 hour 50 miler in 105 degree heat at Hotfoot Hampster. Mozart 100K in Austria saw some torrential weather this year. We think Laz is still in the Show Me state. Stine Rex sets a new women’s 48 hour record. We finish up talking about the results from additional spring energy products getting tested and the saga continues.

Episode 022: Kilian Jornet Crushes Zegama Again. Spring Energy FAIL!!

Episode 020: More to the Cocodona Story, Hellbender Rising, and Trans Continentals

This week we talk about the craziness that ensued at Cocodona 250 after our last episode. We talk about Tillamook Burn Trail Run and the power couple who won the 50 miler there. We dive into Hellbender 100 and talk about how it is well on it's way to becoming a premier 100 miler. There was a great pic of the aurora borealis at a race in Wales. We discuss Ginger Runner's cool looking race Tiger Claw 50K. Uber competitive Transvulcania was last weekend. Quicksilver 100K, Ice Age Trail 50 and Thunderbunny 50K also took place. Episode 019: A Cocodona 250 Legend is Born! Hardrock Switches up a Few Qualifiers

Today's show focuses mostly on what's unfolded at Cocodona 250 over the last few days. Including the exciting finish in the men's race which was not long before we recorded. First place woman should be finishing later tonight. It's truly been a fun race to follow and the livestream action has been great. We go over some race results from UR Mags Old School races series which saw action at Miwok 100K and Strolling Jim 40 miler. Give a shout out to a friend who finished her first 50K at Pine Trail Run in AZ. We thought we didn't have a LazCon update but magically one appeared while we were recording! We discuss Patagonia's virtual RUFA event which is a Challenge on Strava that anyone can sign up for and I will link below. In addition, we started a UNN club on Strava that everyone should join (if you want to)...link below. We talk about which Hardrock qualifier got phased out and which one is being brought on board. EmKay Sullivan turned down her Canyons Golden Ticket and finally Bo Pelander becomes the first person over the age of 80 to do something that is super inspiring.

Episode 018: Courtney Dauwalter Queen of Ultras and Canyons Golden Tickets

Jam packed episode. We present a friendly little challenge to our listeners on podcast platforms. Courtney Dauwalter continues to add to her dynasty with a win at Mt. Fuji 100 over the weekend. Canyons 100K was the last Western States Golden Ticket race and the competition was strong. Also, a guy named Canyon won Canyons 100 miler. Zane Grey 50 and Orcas Island 50 took place over the weekend. We do a deep dive on a new 200 mile road race in Ohio and Johnny has an idea on how to make it epic. We have an amateur level preview of Cocodona 250 which starts on Monday. LazCon updates are hard to come by but we do know what state he is in!
